The income from The Alpha Workshops’ design studio and educational programs covers 50% of the costs of our programs for people with HIV/AIDS, but we still rely on the generosity of friends, colleagues, and enlightened institutions to fund the balance of our operating costs (view our current list of supporters). Each donation makes a very real difference in people’s lives. The Alpha Workshops is 501(c)(3) non-profit and all gifts are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law. There are many different ways to help: honorary gifts, Alpha’s Angels, sponsorships and benefit attendance, gifts in-kind, volunteering, and shopping for Alpha. $25 = one Basic Trainee’s weekly lunch stipend
$50 = one tool kit for a Basic Trainee
$100 = 200 yards of coated paper for our wallpapers
$250 = one field trip to a museum, historic house, or design show for 10 trainees
$500 = 10 gallons of paint
$1,000 = an artist’s monthly health insurance
$2,500 = one month’s rent for our Basic Training Classroom
$5,000 = materials and staffing costs for an off-site team on a renovation project
$10,000 = the salary of one entry-level part-time decorative artist in our studio

Honorary Gifts

Alpha gladly accepts donations in the name of friends, family members, or loved ones no longer here. We also welcome gifts given in honor of joyous occasions, such as birthdays, weddings, and anniversaries.

 Alphas Angels

“Alpha’s Angels” make regular monthly or quarterly contributions automatically from a checking account or a credit card, ongoing support that provides a predictable flow of income to Alpha.

In-kind Donations

The Alpha Workshops gratefully accepts donations of:

• Educational materials – paint, primers, paper, paintbrushes, metal leaf, plaster, design books
• Tickets to showhouses, museums and historic houses for educational site visits
• Office supplies
• Pro-bono services such as graphic design, catering, advertising, photography
• Items for Alpha’s raffles and/or auctions

Volunteering
